For fans who've forgotten about Seann William Scott, he rose to fame as Steve Stifler on 'American Pie' back in 1999. At the time, he even won a "choice sleazebag" laurels for the function, though he never reveled in that title.

Later a few sequels, Seann William Scott drifted away from pies and pursued other interim avenues. Overall, the stars of 'American Pie' have seemingly moved on these days, so it's not surprising that Scott's path diverged from slapstick comedy, either.

For fans who have seen Seann William Scott in 'Lethal Weapon,' his transition from joker to serious actor is evident. And, the sleeve tats he sports aren't part of the character's badass persona; they're real.

Popculture quoted Seann as saying that in many cases, Hollywood didn't have the option to embrace up his ink. In 'Goon,' for case, it "doesn't really seem all that appropriate for my character in [the film] to accept them," noted Scott, but the movie didn't have the budget for coverup fourth dimension.

The actor would have had to arrive early to have his ink covered over, and so the producers opted to leave him as-is. Scott was bemused about his grapheme having "tribal tattoos" (Scott got Polynesian symbols in award of his father's memory), but ultimately, information technology wasn't an effect.

Even so, his vivid tribal tattoosaren't the ones Seann William Scott regrets. And as it turned out, they were a suitable character attribute for 'Lethal Weapon,' so they're fully visible on that show, also.

But the tattoo'southward been effectually longer than Scott'due south been famous for his role every bit Steve Stifler. Unlike the 'Lord of the Rings' cast, 'American Pie' alums didn't run to the tattoo parlor to go matching ink. The tattoo Seann William regrets is one he got at age xviii.

And then Seann's tat isn't a giant pie or something else awkward. Nope, he revealed onConan in 2017 that the tat he regrets is a big (and apparently ugly) lightning bolt on his thigh. His friends convinced him to become inked on his 18th birthday, he told Conan, and the lightning bolt was because he was a "fast runner."

Amid giggling from the other interviewees, Scott explained that the tattoo is on his outer thigh and has long been a source of embarrassment.

The good news is, though, that should he want to have the lightning commodities removed, Scott probably has the funds to do so. He hasn't necessarily faded into oblivion post-'American Pie,' fifty-fifty if he didn't stick with similarly comedic roles.

Scott has acted in a broad range of films, due in part to his fearfulness of being typecast. It's rubber to say that these days, no one's putting the actor in a box.
